KYOTO
KOTOBUKI
LAUNCH & CAFE
Welcome to Kotobuki.
Kotobuki is a Taisho era kyo-machiya of the Tsukamoto Residence renovated into a cafe where you can feel the breath of old Kyoto. Our cafe offers a relaxing atmosphere where guests can experience the beauty of our tatami room designed with a warm chestnut wood counter and Japanese garden. Enjoy a peaceful environment and time in the comforts of a traditional Japanese space.
We offer Omusubi lunches and coffee. The owner has curated the best products from select producers to offer high-quality products made with love and care.
Japan is full of gentle and breathtaking beauty. Kotobuki is a Kyo-machiya over 100 years old dating back to the Taisho era (1912-1926) and has been carefully renovated into a cafe for new use. The atmosphere of the space will allow guests to experience a sense of old Japan. Our owner, Alice, hopes that guests will come to love Japan through Kotobuki. She wants the space to be a place of connection to create meaningful encounters and relationships. By doing so she believes we can help create a more peaceful world by cultivating relations based on care, friendship, and love for one another. We welcome our guests with “omotenashi” hospitality to get a taste of Japanese culture. Please come and visit us, we are waiting and looking to your visit.
